2015 in pictures with a giveaway for the Vakantiebeurs
There’s no better way to start the year than planning your next trip. Ours it’s still not yet set, but I hope to get some more information and inspiration for our travels at the vakantiebeurs (travel fair) in Utrech upcoming Wednesday. Before I review our trips of 2015, here is our first GIVEAWAY: two midday tickets (13:00 to 18:00 or to 20:00 on Friday) for the vakantiebeurs. To enter let us a comment (here or in facebook) saying you would like to participate and which one was your favorite trip of 2015 (I will announce the winner Tuesday at 22:00 CET).

For us 2015 has been a great year with a lot of trips. We flew several times to Madrid to visit our family and also for the wedding of my sister. We took the #IcanflySAS trip to Scandinavia that I won with a picture of Liam. I had two press trips to Lauwersmeer, where I discovered a lot of the North of Friesland and were I met a lot of nice bloggers. In the summer, we did a road trip of ten days to Annecy and on the way back we had a lot of fun at Europa park. To finalize the year and continue with our Xmas traditions, we spent a weekend in Düsseldorf in order to visit the Xmas market there and then we flew for real Xmas to Madrid.

Besides all of our trips around Europe, we also had a “big trip” which took us to Costa Rica. Originally we were planning to go to Panama, but after visiting the “vakantiebeurs” and finding a great deal on flights, we changed our plans 🙂 This trip was also special because our friends and their children joined us. In the past, we used to travel together, but since they had children, they hadn’t joined us for a overseas trip. Well, as it was usual before we picked up the destination and time for our next trip: Chili in September – October 2015. But that has been now postponed for a year as I’m expecting our second baby in March.

But I’ll tell you about our trips for this year next week. Here you can see some of my favorite pictures of this year. Starting with the best 9 of instagram.

The cheese market of Alkmaar.

Playing in the post museum in Copenhagen.
A sloth in Costa Rica.

Fileting workshop during at ‘t Ailand during the first Lauwersmeer press trip.
Looking at Month Blanc.
And some more pictures of Costa Rica 😛
Let’s hope that 2016 is at least as good as 2015 🙂

Because of teaching duties I cannot go to the ‘vakdagen’ on Tuesday and Wednesday, so I’d love to win tickets for the Friday afternoon!
My favorite trip of 2015 was Iran. It has been on my bucketlist for years and I’ve really enjoyed it. Would love to explore the countrie a bit further one day, this trip was way too short.

What a pity you won’t be there on Wednesday!
I’m looking forward to seeing the pictures of Iran, it has to be a gorgeous place 🙂

Looks like a fun year, especially for Liam who is growing so fast. I am not entering the giveaway, just leaving a comment 🙂 Happy New Year to you.

Happy new year to you too!! I was looking at Liam this week and I realized he is not a baby anymore, he seems so grown up. In the pictures of Costa Rica he was still “little”, what a difference in half a year!

It seems that you had a wonderful year, Shere. What a great family you have! Your pictures reminded me of the time when we used to travel with our son on our backs. I hope you’ll have a Happy New Year and lots of travels in 2016.

Shere, I have wanted to go to the Alkmaar Cheese Market for years! You would think I would get there, but I just never do…maybe 2016 will be my year. I love all the things you did over 2015. They all look super fun!

Wow – what a great year! Thanks for sharing all your great photos. I’m not sure I would have gotten past the Alkmaar Cheese Market – at least, not without gaining a few pounds! Happy New Year and safe travels!

What a great year of travel you had! It’s always wonderful to see other traveling families especially ones with younger kids take these trips. We’d love to got to Costa Rica one of these days and see those sloths. It looks like 2016 will be a fantastic one with your new arrival. Wishing your sweet family safe travels!
