I wish I were again in... Bonifacio

Hace dos años estábamos surcando el mar Mediterráneo, cruzando en velero el estrecho de Bonifacio, de Cerdeña a Córcega. La travesía en sí no fue muy espectacular porque no hacía mucho viento (casi mejor porque si no yo hubiera sido capaz de hundir el barco). Pero la entrada a Bonifacio es espectacular.

Two years ago we were sailing the Mediterranean, sailing the Bonifacio’s channel, from Sardinia to Corsica. The journey itself was not very spectacular because it wasn’t windy (better that way, otherwise I would have been able to capsize the boat). But the entrance to Bonifacio is spectacular.

Para poder acceder a la ciudad hay que rodear un acantilado y navegar uno o dos kilómetros por un entrante del mar. Entrante que e estrecho, a ambos lados bien guardado por acantilados. El puerto es pequeño y encantador, pero en él es difícil maniobrar. La ciudad está en lo alto del acantilado, al que ese puede acceder desde el puerto por calles angostas y empinadas.

To access the city you must surround a cliff and navigate one or two miles in a entrance of the sea. It’s narrow and guarded on either side by cliffs. The port is small and charming, but it’s also difficult to maneuver on it. The city is at the top of the cliff, which can be reached through steep and narrow streets.

Tanto la ciudad como el puerto están llenos de restaurantes minúsculos ofreciendo delicias marinas. Bonifacio es una de esos lugares que te conquista desde el mismo momento en que llegas y yo estoy segura de que vamos a volver de nuevo.

In both the city and the harbor you will find lots of tiny restaurants offering delicacies. Bonifacio is one of those places that conquest you from the moment you arrive and I am sure we will return again.
