OnTheRoad: Cape Reinga

Cape Reinga es el sitio que mas me ha gustado de momento. No sé cómo explicarlo pero es un sitio mágico. En la cultura maori es el sitio “where the spirits head home”. Kupe es el primer viajero que se conoce de Hawaiki, el lugar de origen de los maotis del pacífico este. El le dio el nombre de te Rerenga Wairua. El vio este es el sitio como desde el que su gente volvería a su tierra después de la muerte.

Cape Reinga is the place that so far I like at most. It has something magical. In the Maori culture is where the spirits head home. Kupe is the earliest known Voyager from Hawaiki, the original home of the Maori in eastern Pacific. He gave the place the name The Rerenga Wairua. He saw it as the point from which his people would return to their homeland after death.

Cape reinga es también el lugar dónde se encuentran el océano pacífico y el mar de tasmania. Para los maoris uno representa lo femenino y el otro lo masculino, por eso es también considerado el origen de la vida. En el agua se distingue el color de cada uno.

Cape Reinga is also the meeting point for the Pacific ocean and the Tasman sea. For the Maori one represents the female and the other one the male, therefore the place is also considered as the origin of life. In the water the color of each one is clearly visible.
