Madrid’s most tipical breakfast: chocolate con churros

El chocolate con churros es muy típico en España y casi en cualquier bar se puede desayunar churros o porras. Pero desde luego uno de los sitios más populares es la chocolatería San Ginés, fundada en 1894, muy cerca de la Puerta del Sol. Allí fue donde llevé a Paul la primera vez que vino a Madrid.

The chocolate with churros is very typical in Spain and almost any bar you can have churros or porras as breakfast. Certainly one of the most popular sites is the San Ginés chocolateria, founded in 1894, near the Puerta del Sol. The first time Paul came to Madrid, I took him there for the most famous chocolate con churros.

¿Cúal es la diferencia entre un churro y una porra? En la foto anterior Paul está comiendo una porra y en el plato hay churros. Las porras son mucho más gruesas que los churros.

A mí el desayunar con chocolate con churros me recuerda a los domingos que mi abuelo nos hacía  levantarnos al amanecer porque había traido porras.
