A Sunday in Bay of Islands – farmers’ market Kerikeri

A year ago we were enjoying our first days of our honeymoon in New Zealand. We spent the first week in the North (of the North Island). Well, we drove up to the very North, Cape Reinga, but we also enjoyed the way up to there. On Sunday we went to the farmers’ market of Kerikeri.

In a farmers market you can buy fresh products directly from the producer: eggs, bread, vegetables, jam, …

But our main recommendation is to go there with an empty stomach, you can get a rich breakfast and many food treats.

Paul had a big breakfast and I only have pancakes and fresh orange juice as afterwards I went for the skydiving.

IMG_3888Is there also farmers’ markets where you live?

I have lived in New Zealand for 10 years, and been to Bay of Islands at least 5 times, and never made it to the Kerikere farmers market. Maybe next time.

We only managed to go to this one, so I cannot compare with any other market, but the breakfast was fantastic 🙂
