thanks for visiting! all the surroundings looks like this due to the fact that the water of the lake was diverted and the level dropped. What you see in the pictures was under water in the past.

We used to drive by Mono Lake every time we went to visit family in Reno. Can’t believe we never stopped to at least take some photos. Thanks for sharing yours!
I can’t remember where I heard about Mono Lake, as it was on the way, we made a stop (if Liam would have been sleeping, we would have continued our trip)

Reminds me of the Dead Sea and at the time of me writing this I have no idea where Mono Lake is but will look it up and learn a little more. Thanks.

Like the Dead sea, the mono lake has a lot of salt. Mono lake is in California, east from Yosemite NP.

Great photos. That is a real interesting landscape. The blue makes it seem cold even though your in Cali.
shere
Thanks Holly!! I didn’t use any filters, so that it’s also the real blue

I’ve been close but never there. Such an alien landscape. Great pictures.

Did they have any info about how/why it has the interesting rock formations? It looks awesome!
